I’M AMY MARTIN
I FOUNDED EFFIN CREATIVE INITIALLY AS A WAY TO HELP OTHERS FEEL SEEN + EMPOWERED THROUGH BRANDING, STRATEGY + OTHER INHERENT TRICKS OF THE TRADE.
And all of my work was nothing short of legit. But I passed the point of no return when I could no longer stomach someone asking me to “make it pretty” without wanting to gouge my eyes out as if that was all I did (which was from the onset if I’m being honest. And actually, their eyes, not mine, but I digress...) My gift of easily realizing someone’s true essence through design was a no brainer. The end result gave client after client an external identity that brought them to tears in the best way, sure, but ultimately channeling that amount of creative energy over and over again left me shriveled and drained – my soul was starving.
That’s when I stopped wondering how I could help others visually see themselves and I started asking MYSELF why am I seeking transformation and evolution? What, in our malnourished culture, was making me feel so deeply disconnected from myself and everything around me?
SO I WALKED THE PLANK + SET OUT TO FORGE MY OWN PATH. IT WAS TIME TO CALL BACK MY POWER. NATURALLY AS WITH MOST ENTREPREUSES IN THIS REALITY, I BECAME MY OWN FIRST CLIENT + ULTIMATE SUCCESS STORY.
I know firsthand how it feels to exist between career and family, money and marriage, wellbeing and productivity, desire and responsibility, grief and joy. I embrace duality. The Yin. The Yang. A symbol I’ve been drawn to my entire life finally makes perfect sense.
I RECOGNIZE HOW THE DISSONANCE CAN CREATE A CHASM OF SORTS BETWEEN MIND, BODY + SOUL.
And if we haven’t given our brains and bodies the proper nourishment to fully integrate with the depths of our being, we slip into the abyss. Paralysis sets in and tightens it’s grip.
Stuck in the land of “shoulds” and comparison, all joy is sucked right out of our hearts. And in this exact moment, we begin the quest to seek that which is already known – it’s simply asking to emerge.
Getting into this shit is delicate, magical, deep work. It can be ugly. It can be so fucking uncomfortable you want to crawl out of your skin and under a rock. But that’s just it. When you’re in the void of evolving and leveling up, it requires a stupid amount of introspection. It requires an understanding of deep somatic work to shed your former self. It requires connection to your body, it’s emotional and physical needs. More than anything, it requires seeing yourself as your brightest light and getting the fuck out of your own way.
The revelation that our state of being is forever inextricably linked to our perception has been life-changing for me. And it is for my clients, too. So fuck it! Let me help you remember who the fuck you are and OWN THAT SHIT!
